The Chief Justice of Ghana Justice Anin Yeboah is facing an injunction in his own court ( Supreme Court) over documents Leaked by FIX THE COUNTRY Convenors.
The Electoral Commission chairperson Jean Adukwei Mensa is seeking injunction on the Chief Justice of Ghana Justice Anning Yeboah and the Attorney General. According to a writ filed at the Supreme Court, Jean Mensa and her two deputies wants to restrain the Chief justice and the Attorney General from opening the case seeking for their removal from office.
According to reports, Convener and leader of FIX THE COUNTRY DEMONSTRATORS has also been sued.
The writ of injunction on Chief justice and the action is based on Article 146(8) of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
It explains that, a petition or document filed for the removal of a public officer from office should not be leaked to the public or media. However, after FIX THE COUNTRY Conveners filed their petition against her ( Jean Mensa), they leaked the documents on social media.
According to Jean Mensa and her lawyers, they are seeking for injunction on Chief Justice Anning Yeboah and the Attorney General to stop them from opening the case until the leakage of Document which is unconstitutional is tackled.
