Some executives of the Coalition of Moslem Organizations of Ghana (COMOG), today called on speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban SK Bagbin. Discussions were on how to harmonize the interests of the various moslem groups in the country.

The Executives includes Hajj Abdel Manan Abdel Rahman, President of COMOG, Brother Misbaw Amadu (representing National GMSA), Mohammed Shahadu (General Secretary COMOG), Alhaji Iss-hak Omar (Deputy General Secretary – Adm.,COMOG) and Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf (Vice President COMOG).

Hajj Abdel Rahman in his speech said, the fruit of inter-faith is harmony, so there is therefore the need to look at how religious pluralism has had impact on the life and behaviour of the Ghanaian society. By so doing, we need to look at efforts in fostering religious tolerance and recognition for other religions. All these will pave way for us to look at the future of religious pluralism in Ghana.

He therefore called on Muslims in Ghana to help in changing the narrative about Islam from a religion of wickedness, a religion of conflict, a religion of hate for others, to a religion whose mission is rooted in the virtues of love, peace and forgiveness.

On his part, Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin spoke about Islam being not just a religion but a way of life and promised to help the coalition to find lasting solutions to their challenges.
