UEFA has released the draw for the round of 16 and quarterfinals of the 2019/20 champions league at its headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. UEFA’s top tier club competition was put on hold since March 12, due to the coronavirus pandemic
Following the resumption of leagues across Europe, the UEFA has decided to continue from where it left off in the 2019/20 edition of the Champions league. However, the competition will progress with some few changes. The quarterfinals will all be played in a one-leg knockout fashion. Also, the quarters and semis will be played in two Portuguese stadia: Benfica’s Estádio da Luz and Sporting’s Estádio José Alvalade.
The revised schedule to conclude this season’s competition was confirmed by UEFA on Friday July 10, 2020. All quarter- final matches of the Champions League are expected to take place from 12-15 August with the remaining last-16 fixtures to take place on 7-8 August. Remaining second-leg matches will be played at the various home grounds as earlier planned.
Meanwhile, the quarter finals of the Europa League are also scheduled for August 10 and 11 with semi-finals on August 16 and 17.
