Catholic Church Set Ablaze By Islamic Extremists In Sokoto, Over The Arrest Of Murderers Of Deborah

Catholic Church Set Ablaze By Islamic Extremists In Sokoto, Over The Arrest Of Murderers Of Deborah
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Two days ago, a young Deborah met her untimely death after she made some comments in a WhatsApp group, which many people thought was blasphemy. Apparently, the group was meant for academic purposes but some individuals were directing everything towards religion.

Imagine the pain that comes with seeking help in a group meant for academics while someone is pushing a different agenda. This ain’t it, and she had to voice out her thoughts. People thought her language was quite offensive and as religious people, you would expect them to show the act of forgiveness but these people didn’t. They went for this innocent girl, dragged her in the floor, lynched her and later burnt her body, such an inhumane act!!!

It appears that the people who murdered young Deborah are in the custody of authorities. As evil as they are, the authorities wanted to deal with them but their colleagues claim nothing should be done and are therefore embarking on a protest. The protest is happening in Sokoto, the place where the murder incident happened.

How can you protest that the murderers of a person should be released with cutlasses? Religion is all about peace but I guess some people have had it all wrong. This is too scary!!!

It all started like a joke but these angry extremists have ended up burning a Catholic church. According to African Voice Television, the number has even increased to two churches.

What correlation does burning a church have to do with the arrest of these murderers? Religion should be about peace and not violence.
