Carlos Queiroz bids farewell to Ghana, urges long-term vision for Black Stars

Outgoing Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has delivered an emotional farewell message to Ghanaians, saying he leaves with pride in what the team achieved while stressing that Ghana’s football future depends on more than performances on the pitch.

In a message shared on social media, Queiroz reflected on his tenure, saying football teaches that “you either win or you learn.” He added that while the team made progress, there should always be a desire to aim even higher.

The Portuguese coach emphasized that sustained success for the Black Stars must begin off the field through the creation of the right environment to prepare, protect and develop Ghana’s football talent.

Queiroz expressed gratitude to the Ghana Football Association president and board for giving him the opportunity to lead the national team, describing it as an honour and a privilege.

He also thanked his players and technical staff for their courage, commitment and dedication throughout his time in charge.

Addressing Ghanaian fans, Queiroz acknowledged that the team had not achieved complete sporting satisfaction but said they had restored respect and credibility to the Black Stars on football’s biggest stage.

He ended his message with a note of optimism, writing: “Thank you, Ghana. The journey starts now. To the future.”
