With a sense of urgency, Harrison K. Aglago, a former Communication Officer aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Agona West Constituency, has called upon the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to promptly investigate Hon. Chris Arthur, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate in Agona West Constituency, Central Region, Ghana. Aglago’s allegations of Arthur’s misuse of taxpayer money and lavish spending demand immediate attention.
Aglago’s accusations against Arthur are serious, alleging extravagant expenditures at local events, including funerals, and raising suspicions about the source of funds used. He claims Arthur, employed with the Youth Employment Authority (YEA), distributed significant quantities of items like hair dryers, sewing machines, and fans, allegedly sourced unlawfully from the YEA. The potential impact of such actions on the community cannot be overstated.
According to Aglago, these resources, intended for youth empowerment across party lines, appear to benefit NPP supporters exclusively. He stresses the need for a comprehensive investigation into Arthur’s income sources beyond his government salary, to ensure justice and fairness.
Aglago contends that Arthur’s actions seriously undermine democratic processes, citing alleged manipulation of delegates during NPP primaries. He urges preemptive investigation to prevent further escalation of these allegations within Ghana’s political landscape, which could potentially harm the democratic fabric of the nation.
