Nana Oduro Sarfo, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Committee has asserted that Dreams FC would find it difficult to replicate the performances they put in the CAF Confederations Cup in subsequent editions.
Dreams FC’s journey in the CAF Confederation Cup came to an end with a disappointing defeat against Egyptian giants Zamalek at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday.
Despite their hopes of reaching the final for the competition, Dreams FC faced a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Egyptian giants Zamalek.
In the aftermath of the match, the veteran football administrator in an interview with Dan K Pobi ‘Okocha’ on Plan B FM’s ‘Kawadwen’ Sports believes Dreams FC should have taken their chances in both legs of the tie particularly in the first leg in Egypt by scoring at least two goals to make the second leg a mere formality.
According to Nana Oduro Sarfo , the Chief Executive Officer of third-tier side, Port City, the Ghana Premier side will struggle to retain most of their key players if they qualify for Africa next season.
“Dreams would need funds to run the club, which means they would have to sell most of their key players which I think will deplete the team completely” he added
Dreams FC are currently 15th in the Ghana Premier with 31 points after 24 games. They hope to climb up the ladder if they manage to win their next games. They play Bechem United on Wednesday May 8, 2024
