Residents of Enyan Asempanyin in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region were grief stricken on Friday evening after two reckless Okada riders crashed their motorbikes to death during their colleague’s funeral.

Information gathered indicates that, the two Okada riders together with other colleagues were riding recklessly through the Enyan Asempanyin township after they had gone for their colleague’s corpse from the mortuary.

Speaking in an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, some eyewitnesses narrated that they watched on as the Okada riders were performing stunts with their motorbikes, despite being warned by elders including the former assembly member for the area to stop their reckless riding.

According to them, the leader of the Okada rider group placed an amount of money and alcohol as reward for who will win a race and perform the best skills between the riders.

In the process of the contest, one of the riders known as Rasta was sleeping on the motorbike while riding on the top speed while the other rider, Kwesi was also speeding coming from the opposite direction, but unfortunately, they crashed into each other and Kwesi died at the spot.

Rasta, died on the way to the Ajumako District Government Hospital.

Meanwhile, the bodies have been deposited at the mortuary.

Incidentally, their deceased colleague, Daniel Nyarkoh, 23, whose funeral was being organized also died through motor accident.
