Man believed to be in his early fourties has been arrested for exhuming a queenmothers corps at Ekumfi Gyinankoma in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.
The man Kojo Essel who is from Agona Swedru with other suspect who has been runaway was caught exhuming a queenmothers corps at the Community’s cemetery Saturday February 19 2022 midnight at around 12:00 am.
An Eyewitness who is a hunter in the community According to him caught them in the cemetery exhuming the queenmothers corps from the grave.
According to the hunter he retrieved cutlasses,shovel, pinchbar,pick axe,crow hammer,six bag sacks.
According to the hunter,he marched the suspect to the Chiefs palace at that night.
Meanwhile,upon searching the bags of the suspect,they found two fresh human skulls,fresh human penis,corps beads,four corps breast,rusted nickles, touch light teeth’s all belongs to the corps they exhumed.
In addition,the Chiefs regent for Ekumfi Gyinankoma Nana Kwame Donkoh then narrated that,he was at sleep in midnight that the Youths of the Community were shouting for caugting a grave looter he approached to the scene and found human skeletons in his bag.
He said,they followed the suspect to the grave yard and showed them where they loot the corps and only for them to noticed that the corps belongs to the queenmothers of the community who died recently in an accident.
He Chief regant said,this was not the first such incident has happened in the community.
He said,they found a missing corps anytime they go to the cemetery.
He said,they will perform a ritual to the god’s of the land before a decision is been taken by the chiefs and the elders in the community.
Lastly,the Assembly Member for the area Hon.Abeiku Nyankson them said,it was midnight at Saturday evening when he got the information.
He said,they all went to the cemetery where the suspect loot the corps and found out that it was their queenmothers corps.
Meanwhile,the suspect has been handed over to the Ekumfi Essuohyia police station for an investigation.
The Chiefs have however called for the suspect family members to the community for further information.
The human skeletons and other parts exhumed by the suspect have been retrieved and are at the Chiefs Palace.
