The Family Head (Abusuapanin) of Enyan Obontser in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region has been arrested for butchering a 45-year-old man over land.

Information gathered by Oyerepa News reporter, Wofa Sammy revealed that the victim, Papa Dee was on his farm when Abusuapanin Teacher Arkoh together with his nephew Kwame Penpe dragged him without asking any questions and butchered him with sharpened cutlasses.

The suspect according to information has been threatening to kill the victim anytime he sees him in the community.

A Unit Committee Chairman of Enyan Obontser, Kofi Alhaji revealed that the victim was nearly beheaded at his farm. He was nearly killed by the suspect over land in the same community.

The victim, Papa Dee said, he has not harmed the suspects. According to him, the suspects are his friends and he doesn’t know what pushed them to inflict wounds on him.

“I didn’t  do anything wrong but they decided to kill me”

The case was reported to the Enyan Abaasa Police Command where the Abusuapanin was arrested. He’s currently in custody to assist investigation, but his nephew is on the run.

The victim on the other hand is receiving treatment at the Enyan Abaasa Health Center.

Subsequently, some residents who spoke about the incident said, they were not amazed by what happened because people kill themselves every year over land disputes. Last year, in 2022 someone was killed in a land spat.

They are therefore calling on the Police Service to strengthen security in the Area.
