Diplomat and Career Ambassador, Daniel Ohene Agyekum has lashed out at the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) from his base in Kumasi, claiming but for the 4th Republican constitution President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would still hold on to power and not hand over.
The octogenarian in an exclusive interview monitored by Plan B News noted that happenings in recent times show power has gotten into the head of the President and he is unwilling to listen to the voice of reasoning if given.
The former Ghana Ambassador to the USA believes the President has thrown his legal training to the dogs and acted haphazardly without recourse to the people that gave him power.
“This man has shown he is power drunk and does not want to listen to anybody. The few voices that speak against his bad governance are brushed aside. Can’t you see what is going on? What have they done to the Frimpong Boateng galamsey exposé?”, he asked.
“I always refer to that ‘Agyapadea’ document but people are not listening. They the Akyem people, the Ofori Panin fie, that small group want to capture everything in Ghana and make it their own”, he claimed
Ambassador Agyekum believes the President’s traits are not exemplary of a statesman who means well for the country.
“I am telling you; I know Akufo-Addo from our days in Legon, I know Ken Ofori-Atta the Finance Minister, I knew his father that is their behavior”, he lashed out.
“If not for the 1992 constitution, Akufo-Addo would have made Ghana his and not leave power. He would have willed everything to himself and his family just as the ‘Agyapadea’ booklet says” he noted.
