Security analyst Nana Amankwaa has said that bribery within the Ghana Police Service remains a difficult problem to completely eradicate.
Speaking on Ebaano Sen, an evening show on Plan B FM, he explained that some officers rely on small payments to cover daily expenses before receiving their monthly salaries.
He added that this reality makes it challenging for even the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to completely stop the practice. According to him, it may not even be possible to reduce it by as much as five percent.
Nana Amankwaa stressed, however, that efforts to improve professionalism, officer welfare, and integrity within the service are ongoing, and such reforms are essential to reducing corruption over time.
