A 25-year-old man, Peter Chipurotey, has been arrested by police in Sawla, Savannah Region, for allegedly beating his teenage nephew to death at Kporiju.

Community members told Adom News that the suspect sneaked into the room of the victim with a stick and struck his head, killing him in his sleep.

The deceased’s friends who saw Peter rushing out of his room discovered his lifeless body and reported the incident to the Kalba Police Post, leading to Peter’s arrest.

During interrogations, the suspect admitted to committing the crime, telling police that his nephew did not respect him.

The body of the deceased has since been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic customs.
