Boy, 18 dies in Ghc200 motor racing bet

An 18-yearpold boy has died in a motor racing competition with his friend at Sekyere Odumase Nkrampo in the Ashanti Region, according to reports.

The sad news has been confirmed on Kumasi-based Angel FM on the show breaking News with Alibaba.

It is gathered that the two agreed to go for the race after a heated argument on whose motorbike speeds more than the other.

The deceased is said to have agreed to the challenge by his friend to go for a racing competition and also placed an amount of Ghc200 contributed by both friends for the winner.

According to the report, the deceased took off with his friend from their hometown and set a turning point for themselves.

However, on their way, the 18-year-old who could not ride on the dusty road crushed into a building.

The police have conveyed the body from the scene to the morgue pending an autopsy report.

Meanwhile, the family has asked the police to release the body for burial as tradition demands since he is the first child of his parents to have died; he ought to be buried immediately.

Both the referee and the other competitor are currently nowhere to be found.
