As published by citinewsrooms today Monday, a church pastor, Rev. Michael Kofi Appiah of Takoradi’s Light of Faith Ministry, was discovered dead in a guest room following a late-night outing with a married woman.

The woman was also a university student.

The shocking discovery has stirred the usually quiet community of New Takoradi, with residents expressing disbelief at the tragic and scandalous event.

According to initial reports, Rev. Appiah checked into the guest house with a woman identified only as Mrs. Linda Mensah, a known member of his congregation who is also married.

Witnesses say they saw the pair enter the guest room together around 10 p.m. and reportedly ordered food and drinks shortly afterward.

“At first, we thought they were just talking, you know?” said Kwesi, a staff member at the guest house. “It’s not unusual for pastors to counsel people privately. But things seemed different with them. They were laughing a lot and seemed quite… close.”

Zambian Bulletin - SAD NEWS💔😭 DEAD BODY FOUND IN A HOUSE A dead body has been found in a house in Garden Compound ( kanele area) during the early hours of today.

Hours passed, and around 5 a.m., a staff member heard banging on the guest room door. Mrs. Mensah was frantically shouting for help, saying that Rev. Appiah was unresponsive. Staff rushed to the scene, but it was too late.

“We went in and saw him lying on the bed, eyes closed, no movement,” said Afia, one of the attendants. “Mrs. Mensah was crying, saying, ‘Please, help him, he isn’t breathing!’ We tried to get him up, but he was cold.”

Local police officers quickly arrived at the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation. They have ruled out any signs of foul play but are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

The police also confirmed that Mrs. Mensah was questioned and later released after providing a statement.

Community members expressed a mix of sorrow and shock. Some churchgoers, who had once respected and revered Rev. Appiah, were heartbroken upon hearing of his passing under such circumstances.

One church elder, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “This is a hard pill to swallow. Pastor Appiah has guided us in faith for years. While we are heartbroken, we must wait for all the facts.”

Meanwhile, rumors are swirling about the nature of Rev. Appiah’s relationship with Mrs. Mensah. Church members recall the pastor often advocating for moral integrity, which makes the circumstances of his death all the more troubling.
