National Chairman aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, has appointed former Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey and former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joseph Osei-Owusu to lead his campaign ahead of the party’s internal elections.
The NPP’s reorganisation process commenced with membership registration at polling stations from March 1 to March 31, with verification ongoing from April 1 to April 14.
Polling station elections are scheduled for May 10 to May 16, followed by electoral area elections in June, constituency elections in July, and regional and national elections in August.
The national delegate conference is slated for September 18 to September 20.
In a statement issued on Friday, April 3, the campaign team announced that Mr Quartey will serve as Campaign Manager, while Mr Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, will take up the role of Senior Campaign Advisor.
“The campaign will be led by two of the party’s most respected and experienced political figures,” the statement read in part.
It added that the selection of the two signals Mr Agyarko’s intention to run a grassroots-focused campaign anchored on experience and strategic leadership.
“In selecting these two stalwarts, Hon. Boakye Agyarko has signaled his intent to run a grassroots-centered campaign,” the statement noted.
The statement further highlighted that both appointees bring significant experience in legislative affairs, governance, and internal party dynamics, which the campaign believes will provide a strategic advantage.
It also indicated that a full national campaign team, comprising experts in strategy, research, communications, and operations, will be unveiled in the coming weeks as the campaign gains momentum toward the September delegates conference.
