Black Stars’ Road to AFCON 2027 Set: Ghana Eyes Redemption
Ghana’s path back to continental prominence is now clearly defined following the release of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers schedule, setting the stage for the Ghana national football team to mount a serious challenge.
The journey begins with the qualifiers draw on May 19, 2026—a pivotal moment that will shape Ghana’s route and level of opposition. From there, the Black Stars kick off their campaign with Matchdays 1 and 2 between September and early October, where a strong start could prove decisive.
The pressure intensifies in November with Matchdays 3 and 4, a period that often tests squad depth and consistency. By March 2027, the final two rounds of qualifiers will demand focus and resilience as Ghana push to secure qualification without late complications.
Should they come through, the Black Stars will take their place at the tournament proper from June 19 to July 17, 2027—an opportunity to chase redemption and reassert themselves among Africa’s football elite.
