Ghana’s Black Sherif is set to make his mark at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards, where he has earned a nomination in the highly competitive Best International Flow category.
The event is scheduled to take place in Atlanta on October 3, 2023, and promises to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop culture.
Black Sherif faces stiff competition from a diverse lineup of talented rappers, including three fellow Africans: Aka and K.O from South Africa, and Zimbabwe’s Sampa The Great. Other nominees hail from around the world, such as Gazo from France, Central Cee and J Hus from the UK, Major Rd and Ninho from Brazil, and Tasha & Tracie, also representing Brazil.
While this marks Black Sherif’s second consecutive nomination in the same category, his consistent impact in the global hip-hop scene is undeniable. Last year’s award went to Benjamin Epps, but this year, Black Sherif aims to secure the recognition he deserves.
Adding to his recent achievements, Black Sherif was named West African Artiste of The Year at The 2023 Headies in Atlanta, solidifying his rising prominence in the music industry. This nomination not only reflects his individual success but also underscores the increasing influence of African artists worldwide.
