The Black Satellites of Ghana suffered a painful defeat in their last Group B fixture against Ivory Coast in the 2020 WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations in Benin.

The match was held at the Stade de Gaules in Porto-Novo on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was a fairly balanced game as both teams were cautious and possessed the game in the middle creating little scoring opportunities.

Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad made a stupendous save to deny Mohammed Bamba from opening the scoring for the Ivorians.

The Young Elephants became more threatening in the second half as they kept piling pressure on the Black Satellites.

Fofana Datro who tormented the Ghana defence won a free-kick very close to the 18-yard box in the 60th minute.

Issouf Dosso gave the Ivorians the lead with a stunning strike from a free-kick.

Ivory Coast won the group with 4 points followed by Ghana with 3 points as Nigeria exit the tournament with just a point.

The Black Satellites will now face Niger in the semi-finals
