The Black Queens produced a convincing 4-0 win against Russia in the Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The game was held in the UAE on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, amid rising tensions in the Middle East following missile strikes on Iran by the United States and Israel, but it proceeded despite earlier concerns about possible disruption.

Both sides came into the game strong, with Ghana dismantling Hong Kong 4-0 and Russia defeating Tanzania 4-1. However, the African giants emerged victorious.

The Queens started the game with persistent pressure, which paid off in the 8th minute when Doris Boaduwaa laid a neat pass to Stella Nyamekye, who drilled the ball past the goalkeeper to score the opener.

The tempo of the game increased, and in the 17th minute, Boaduwaa controlled the ball beautifully and placed it into the net to make it 2-0 for Ghana.

Russia tried to regain control, but Ghana’s quality prevailed. Nyamekye assisted Boaduwaa for her second goal in the 33rd minute, making it 3-0.

The Black Queens continued to dominate in the second half, creating several chances. Eventually, Patience Zakaria scored the fourth goal to complete their second consecutive 4-0 win in the tournament.

With this result, the three-time WAFCON runners-up now have six points from two games. Russia sits second with three points, followed by Hong Kong and Tanzania.

The Black Queens will face Tanzania in their next game, provided that safety conditions permit, amid the ongoing escalation between Israel and Iran.
