Ghana’s Black Galaxies played out a goalless draw with 2022 CHAN hosts Algeria in a friendly match on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.
The game against Algeria is the first of two friendlies that have been arranged for the team ahead of the 2022 African Nations Championship which kicks off on January 13, 2022.
Captain of the side, Gladson Awako was substituted early in the game (25 minutes) after he picked up a knock and was replaced by Sylvester Simba.
Algeria dominated possession and the play for majority of the game but were unable to find the back of the net, while Ghana struggled to break a resilient Algeria side.
The Black Galaxies will face Mozambique on January 10, in their last friendly game before the competition begins.
Ghana have been placed in Group C of the 2022 CHAN and will face Madagascar, Morocco and Sudan.
