“Bawumia Should Shut Up and Watch Mahama Rule Ghana” – NDC Communicator Fires Back

“Bawumia Should Shut Up and Watch Mahama Rule Ghana” – NDC Communicator Fires Back
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Cromwell Ansah, NDC communication team member for Ashaiman Constituency, has fired a scathing salvo at Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, telling him to “shut up and watch Mahama rule Ghana.” This rebuke follows Bawumia’s recent criticisms of President John Dramani Mahama’s governance, particularly the introduction of the GH₵1 Energy Sector Levy.

On Plan B FM’s Nkɔsoɔnsɛm show with host Obidehyeɛ Kofi Sekyi, Ansah accused Bawumia of hypocrisy, citing his past statements and actions.

“Dr. Bawumia should shut up. He’s the least person with integrity to speak about a deceiving government, as he is known to be the chief deceiver,” Ansah said, referencing Bawumia’s failed claim of having “arrested” inflation. Ansah also highlighted Bawumia’s broken promise to not support taxes on mobile money transactions and criticised him for gifting expired food to constituents.

“This same Bawumia told us they wouldn’t tax mobile money, but the result was seen by all,” Ansah said, questioning Bawumia’s credibility.

Defending the GH₵1 energy sector levy, Ansah explained its purpose: settling debts in the energy sector.

“The GH₵1 Energy Sector Levy will be used to settle the debt owed in that sector, and Ghanaians should accept it in good faith,” he said, noting the significant debts owed to Asogli Power ($260m) and Bui ($660m).

The controversy has sparked heated debate on social media, with supporters and detractors weighing in on Ansah’s comments.
