Bawumia must offer an apology to the NPP for his humiliating defeat and stop pushing the agenda for 2028 – Group

‘Most MoMo Users Poor; Don’t Tax Them’ – Bawumia’s Own Words Come Back To Haunt Him

A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwesi Korang, who is also the founder of Patriot Ghana, has slammed members of the elephant family who are pushing to have former President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia elected as the party’s 2028 presidential candidate.

He stated that it was too early for anyone to start pushing this agenda when the party has not even finished with its fact-finding mission on why they lost the 2024 general elections.

He said those attempting to extricate the former vice president from the unprecedented humiliating defeat should bow their heads in shame.

He indicated that there is an attempt by some individuals to push an assertion that the former leader worked so hard and so must be blamed for the party’s defeat.

In his view, the only thing Dr. Bawumia has to do is offer an apology to the party for the abysmal performance in the elections.

He has therefore advised those who get the opportunity to speak on radio and television and also hold secret meetings to promote Dr. Bawumia as the party’s candidate in 2028 to cease, or they will also continue speaking against it.

“Those who feel uncomfortable that we are speaking against these things on grounds that it is having a negative impact on the party should advise those having secret meetings and speaking on radio and TV and saying it is Bawumia who would be presented in 2028 to stop doing that, or we will also keep speaking against it.”

He added, “Has Dr. Bawumia offered any apology to the party for his abysmal performance in the 2024 general elections? Why should we entertain the situation where the national leadership orders a fact-finding exercise and we have yet to submit its report, and yet the Ashanti region has released its report claiming that Bawumia did no wrong but former President Akufo-Addo, Abronye, Wontumi, Kennedy Agyapong, and others should be blamed for our defeat?

So what this means is that every party member, including polling station agents, did not work hard except Bawumia. The best approach in dealing with this is for Bawumia to offer an apology to the NPP for his abysmal performance. For someone who was elected as the presidential candidate and pledged to win the election but sent us to opposition, he should rather come and apologize for failing to deliver on his promises. Has he done that? After we lost the election, has he come out to speak to members of the NPP to give them some assurance?”

He advised the former vice president and his team to stop pushing this agenda since it can destroy the party.
