Former Black Stars captain Asamoah is delighted to return to the Ghana Premier League after coming as a substitute in the 71st minute for Legon Cities in their goalless draw with Medeama in match day 3 of the 2020/21 season.
Gyan joined the Royals after leaving Indian giants North East End United as a free agent in March this year.

The 35-year-old made his debut for his new club on Friday after missing the opening two games of the season

The former Sunderland striker once again demonstrated his quality after replacing Raphael Ocloo in the 71st minute.

“I am very much excited to be back home. This is where the name, Asamoah Gyan started and it feels great to play in the league again after 17-years.”

“I am very much satisfied with the game tonight. It’s a positive one. We need to approach the next game with this same mentality and I believe soon the wins will come.” Gyan concluded.

Gyan last played in the Ghana Premier League in 2003 for Liberty Professionals, before joining Italian club, Udinese, and now back in Ghana to continue his football after a successful career arround the world.
