Heavy rainfall laced with thunder Storms triggered another disaster at Nkrankwanta in the Bono Region of Ghana. The thunderstorm is believed to have emanated from the Ghana and Cote Divoire boarder. Over 20 students of the Nkrankwanta Senior High Technical school were quickly moved by an ambulance after their classroom block caved in during the rains.

Majority of them sustained various degrees of injuries while some of them fainted in the process. In the Nkrankwanta township, over 200 people have been rendered homeless. Some of them had the roofing of their buildings blown away. Trees also fell on some buildings.

Despite the severity of the injuries of the Senior High school students, none of them passed on. They are responding to treatment while the critical cases are being referred to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital.

Nkrankwanta based Radio station called Osikani 99.7fm shared some pictures of the gory scene. A social media platform for the town solicited for prayers for the school children.
