The Anlo Traditional Council has stated its outrage at the neglect for its practices, culture and traditions following the announcement of funeral rites of the late ex-President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings.

According to the Traditional Council, Jerry John Rawlings was not only a former President but also an installed Chief and hence the need to follow laid down traditions and customs with regards to funeral rites; one pertaining to the people of Anlo.

In a statement sighted by Plan B FM, it added that the traditional council was supposed to meet the immediate family of the former President to discuss arrangements on the funeral rites of the late President. However, they are left shocked by the latest development.

It continued that, “The Anlo Traditional Council reserves the right to take steps to ensure that this error is remedied appropriately. We take this opportunity to inform H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo who we know is a royal to ensure that the right procedures are adhered to”.

Family of the late former President has announced in a statement that the final funeral rites of the late former President will be held on December 23.
