Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku faced a heated confrontation from an angry supporter following the Black Stars’ 4-2 defeat to The Gambia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The incident occurred at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, shortly after Ghana surrendered a two-goal lead to suffer another damaging defeat on home soil.
A video circulating on social media shows the supporter pointing fingers at Kurt Okraku and angrily shouting at him as the GFA president attempted to leave the stadium.
The fan subsequently appeared to move towards Okraku, but members of what appeared to be his entourage intervened and prevented a direct confrontation.
The incident highlights the growing frustration among sections of Ghanaian football supporters following the Black Stars’ poor start to their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.
Ghana had taken a 2-0 lead but conceded four unanswered goals as The Gambia completed a remarkable comeback to secure victory.
The defeat leaves the Black Stars with back-to-back losses and zero points from their opening two matches in Group C.
