Investigative journalism outfit Tiger Eye PI has pushed back strongly against claims made by anti-corruption campaigner Vitus Azeem suggesting that Anas Aremeyaw Anas has completed, previewed, and subsequently shelved an exposé on alleged corruption in Ghana’s Parliament.

In a statement responding to media reports that quoted the former Executive Director of Transparency International Ghana, Tiger Eye PI described the assertions as “entirely false, contrived, and a figment of Mr. Azeem’s imagination.”
According to the group, Mr. Azeem’s comments—which suggested that some Members of Parliament had even previewed portions of the supposed investigation—were not only misleading but also attributed claims to Anas that he has never made.
Tiger Eye PI said it would normally ignore such allegations, which it noted have resurfaced in various forms over the years, but the seriousness of the claims and the stature of Mr. Azeem made a response necessary.
The organisation challenged the anti-corruption advocate to provide evidence to back his assertions.

“Neither Anas nor any associate of Tiger Eye PI has ever made the assertions attributed to them. We challenge him to provide proof that Tiger Eye PI concluded investigations into Parliament and showed it to some Members of Parliament. He should, among other things, mention the names of the alleged MPs who previewed the said investigations,” the statement said.
While acknowledging that many Ghanaians remain eager to see underhand dealings within Parliament exposed, the group stressed that public interest alone is not enough to trigger an investigation—and certainly does not amount to proof of any ongoing or concluded work on the legislature.
Tiger Eye PI expressed disappointment that a personality of Mr. Azeem’s calibre would make such “spurious claims” without verifying them, especially given their shared interest in the fight against corruption.
The group further warned that if such claims are left unchallenged, they risk creating the false impression that Anas is deliberately concealing evidence of wrongdoing in Parliament.
Beyond that, Tiger Eye PI said the allegations trivialise the enormous risks, costs, and sacrifices involved in its undercover work, including the death of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.

“If such investigations are indeed as straightforward as suggested, we encourage individuals such as Mr. Azeem and like-minded persons to take the initiative,”the statement added, urging the public not to take the organisation’s sacrifices for granted.
Tiger Eye PI concluded by describing Mr. Azeem’s claims as “reckless and irresponsible” in the absence of any evidence, and reiterated that while it remains committed to naming, shaming, and jailing corrupt actors, the decision on when and how to conduct investigations rests solely with the organisation based on the conditions at hand.
