He shared that due to the high importation, poultry feeds have become too expensive to afford so majority of Poultry farmers are now leaving the business.

He also shared that, the prices of the eggs imported from China is very affordable on the market than the ones from Ghanaian Farmers and that has resulted in the neglect of the ones from Ghanaians. He explained that, the prices of the Ghanaian eggs are expensive due to the economic hike and high prices of feeds in the country, adding that, the Chinese government supports the Poultry framers in their country so they spend little i producing more.

On the back of that, he emphasized why Ghanaians should embrace the NDC’s ‘nkoko nkitinkiti’ policy. He mentioned that, the policy will drive the poultry farming business into its lucrative nature and will be attractive to the youth to join. He added that, under the policy, government will buy day old chicks for Poultry Farmers to be able to rear and make means out of it.

He further shared that, the policy’s main aim is to reduce the number of poultry product imports in the country.
