Agyeman Budu Calls For Immediate Closure Of Suhum Court

Agyeman Budu Calls For Immediate Closure Of Suhum Court
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The facilitator general of the 13th Annual Chief Justice’s Forum, Dr Kwaku Agyeman-Budu, has called for the immediate closure of the Suhum circuit court.

He said the building which used to be a cocoa shed has a lot of structural defects and not fit to house a court.

“Funerals start on Fridays, so while the court is ongoing, people mount their tents and speakers there. So while court is in session, they do their own thing out there,” Agyeman-Budu said in a presentation at the 13th edition of the Annual Chief Justice’s Forum in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

The Suhum circuit court is among five others that were selected for assessment during the forum.

Agyeman-Budu added: “Luckily, that has been solved one way or the other but there was also another interesting thing in the sense that somebody actually raised a kiosk in front of the court premises.”

According to him, even though it was eventually razed down “one way or the other, the issue of encroachment is a problem because it is not well demarcated.”
