A 27-year-old taxi driver, Kofi Donkor has been apprehended by the police for an incident involving a police officer on duty at Agona Swedru in the Central region.
Regrettably, the incident occurred at the Agona Swedru Chief Palace junction while Constable Ernest Opare was diligently directing traffic on the bustling dual carriage road.
A police source informed Adom News that the driver, with vehicle registration number GW 6086-22, was observed driving on the shoulders of the road.
According to reports, the driver who was speeding unfortunately struck the police officer.Constable Ernest Opare unfortunately suffered significant injuries to his back and hands.
He was promptly taken to the Agona Swedru Munici
pal Hospital where he is currently receiving medical care.
Meanwhile, the taxi driver is currently in police custody, cooperating with investigations.
