The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo is set to announce his official squad for the doubleheader against Sudan on Friday, October 4.
The male senior national team of Ghana will take on their counterpart from Sudan this month in Round 3 and 4 of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFON) tournament.
In notice from the Ghana FA this evening, it has disclosed that coach Otto Addo will face the media tomorrow to announce his squad for the two games against Sudan.
“Head Coach Otto Addo is set to unveil the #BlackStars squad for the AFCON Qualifiers against Sudan this Friday, 4th October 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Ghana Football Association Conference Room,” a notice from the GFA said.
Ghana, who are four-time winners of the continental showpiece returns to action this month after a disappointing performance against Angola and Niger last month.
The Black Stars will play host to Sudan on October 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The team will travel to Tripoli, Libya for the return fixture against Sudan on October 15.
Otto Addo and his charges are poised to make amends against Sudan following a disappointing start to the qualifiers last month, where Ghana succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium before playing out a 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane, Morocco.
The former Talent Development coach of Borussia Dortmund will reveal his squad in the coming days for the highly competitive clash.
Notable players like Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and Majeed Ashimeru are expected to be included in the squad.
Meanwhile, Alexander Djiku and Ernest Nuamah who missed Ghana’s previous games are expected to make a return to the team following injury recovery.
