A bus carrying 62 pupils from Ben Konadu SDA Basic School in Asante Akyem has been involved in a devastating accident on the Adukrom-Somanya road.

The tragic crash occurred on the Aseseeso stretch while the children were on an excursion to Akosombo.

Reports indicate that the driver lost control while descending a hill, causing the bus to somersault multiple times before landing on its side.

Several students were reportedly thrown from the vehicle, while others remained trapped in the wreckage.

Emergency responders, including the police, fire service, and ambulance personnel, rushed to the scene to rescue victims and transport the injured to Yilo Krobo Municipal Hospital.

Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of casualties as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
