Ghana premier league side Aduana FC have threaten to withdraw from playing in the Ghana premier league if the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association does not reverse it decision from banning them from playing at the Nana Agyeman Badu park.
Tamale City players and officials were attacked after their game against Ghana Premier League leaders, Aduana Stars, on Sunday April 2, 2023.
The two teams faced off in a Week 25 fixture in the league which Aduana Stars won by a lone goal via a second half injury time penalty.
According to reports, players and officials from Tamale were attacked on their way out of Dormaa as suspected fans of Aduana stars hurled stones at the Tamale City bus.
Speaking to Dan K. Pobi ‘Okocha’ on Plan B FM ‘Kawadwen’ Sports, Director of Communications of Aduana FC, Evans Oppong a.k.a Maestro said they are disappointed with the decision by the FA to ban them from their home venue.
“We believe there are certain elements who are working against Aduana FC to prevent us from wining the league. The FA could have done better with the decision but went ahead to place a ban on us from playing at the Nana Agyeman Badu park. Management will meet on the matter and we want to tell the FA that, if they still go ahead with the ban, we will have no option than to withdraw from the Ghana Premier League.” he fumed.
Aduana FC are top of the Ghana Premier League with 44 points after 25 games. Aduana FC host Accra Great Olympics in their next BetPawa Premier League fixture.
