Adu-Boahen sack meaningless until it’s linked to Ken Ofori-Atta sacking – NPP MP

Member of Parliament(MP) for Mpraeso in the Eastern Region Davis Opoku Ansah (OPK) has said that the resignation of Charles Adu-Boahen is meaningless.

He said it will make sense if Ken Ofori Atta is also removed from the Finance Ministry and the Ministry is liberated from shackles to make the country better.

Apart from Ken Ofori Atta, he says the Ministry of Finance should also do away with personnel from Data Bank who have formed a cabal at the Ministry and causing problems for Ghana.

“The sacking of Charles Adu Boahen is meaningless unless it is linked to the resignation of Ken Ofori-Atta and the total liberation of the finance ministry from data Bankers,” he said in a post shared on Facebook.

The President of Ghana has terminated the appointment of the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu-Boahen.

This comes a few minutes after the Vice President of Ghana demanded his dismissal and subsequent investigation into allegations of corruption against him.

“My attention has been drawn to a video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas (as posted on his social media handle) showing the Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen, apparently using my name, inter alia, to peddle influence and collect money from supposed investors. I would like to state that if what the minister is alleged to have said is accurately captured in the video, then his position as a minister of state is untenable. He should be dismissed summarily and investigated.”

A statement from the Presidency indicated that the President took the decision to sack him after he spoke to him.

The matter has since been referred to the Office of the Special Prosecutor for investigations to unravel the truth or otherwise.

In Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ latest expose, Charles Adu-Boahen is captured negotiating investment deals with some businessmen.

He is on record to have said he will take 20% of the said $500 million being proposed by the Investors to pump into the Ghanaian economy.

Adu-Boahen convinced the Businessmen that he can grant them access to the Vice President unless they pay an appearance fee of $200,000; a claim the Vice President has dismissed indicating that he does not take appearance fees to meet with investors
