Medical practitioner, Kwasi Antwi Koranteng has urged Ghanaians to maintain healthy lifestyle practices while embracing the consumption of cocoa as necessary activity for good cardio-vascular health.

In an exclusive public health awareness interview on Plan B FM in Tema, on Monday, 28th September, Dr. Kwasi Koranteng, highlighted regular exercising, lowering of the consumption of alcohol and the intake of healthy foods, especially the consumption of cocoa products as vital for maintaining a healthy body.

Touching on a forthcoming health outreach by the Cocoa Processing Company of Ghana (CPC) on Tuesday 29th September at the Kasoa market, the medical practitioner and health advocate stressed on the life-saving benefits of cocoa while urging citizens to consider the intake of cocoa products as profitable for good blood circulation.

“People should exercise enough and eat right. Cocoa for instance has remarkable health benefits however; many Ghanaians have not paid enough attention to it. Green leafy vegetables such as cabbage and lettuce cannot be overlooked”, he reiterated.

According to Dr Koranteng, 50% of deaths from kidney diseases stem from complications of the heart.

He also indicated that congenital heart diseases, such as pulmonary artery diseases, hole-in heart disease, hypertension and other related ailments should not be underestimated , hence, the need for individuals to be cautious of what they expose themselves to and not copy blindly.

“You don’t need to spend money to register with a gym, just walk enough, exercise on your own compound, sleep enough, consume more water and you will be fine”, he concluded.
