The Ghana National Tanker Drivers Union has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to President Nana Akufo Addo to address issues affecting their members or face their wrath.
The tanker drivers among other things say the salaries given to them are very low also they endure harassment from police officers at various checkpoints.
They also blamed the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Hassan Tampuli for the mismanagement of their welfare concerns properly hence the ultimatum to the President.
Speaking to Plan B FM, Mr. Mohammed Shafiu, the Tema branch gas chairman stated that, their outfit will decide on their next line of action if government refuses to address their concerns within the 48-hour ultimatum.
Fuel tanker drivers across the country were earlier today, directed by their mother association -The Ghana National Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union – not to move any of their trucks.
The association disclosed in a letter that all drivers must report to their respective loading gantries.
