The member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George and one of the members sponsoring the anti-LGBTQI+ bill has said Ghanaians will also sack Americans from the country if they deny Ghanaian MPs access to their country after the bill is passed.
It has been reported that a Ugandan minister of state has been denied visa to the United States of America because of LGBTQI+ criminalization in Uganda.
The Ningo Prampram legislator made these remarks on Plan B FM morning show ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ when he was speaking to the host Nana Yaw Abrompah.
He said “It’s been 20 to 21 months of hard work, and it’s exciting to see the report of the committee finally laid. So you can confidently say the first stage has come to an end. And most importantly the fact that the committee recommends to the house that the bill should be passed, subject to amendments means that it has been agreed between sponsors and the committee. I think that we are in a good place” Sam George noted.
The bill seeks to criminalize LGBTQ activities by establishing proper human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values, outlawing LGBT-related activities, and protecting and supporting children.
He also urged parents to pay close attention to things that contain the colors and signs of LGBTQI+ they buy for their kids because it is another strategy they are using to have their way through. He stressed.
