A primary school in Sakyikrom known as Royal Academy School, set off for a friendly soccer match with a government school in Obengkrom around 9:30am today. Because of the long distance of about 50km, the driver could not go for a second time, so he packed the students in the bus where some were on top of the bus. There were a total of forty-four students and four teachers alongside the bus driver. They set off and about 15km for them to reach their destination, they came across a sharp curve. The driver did not see that there was a taxi coming. The school bus got clashed with the taxi who has loaded plenty suckers of plantain to a market.
Right at the moment, six school children died. Both drivers also died instantly, leaving thirty-eight school children and four teachers who were heavily injured. At that moment, one of the teacher who were heavily injured tried all his best and called a different school bus from a nearby town. Luckily for them, the bus came after ten minutes and all of them were hospitalized in a hospital at Gyedu.
