33 year Adamu Jantu has allegedly been shot dead by his friend who has been identified as Lucky Young at Sewuah in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti region.

According to family sources, the gruesome activity took place on a plot of land belonging to the accused Lucky Young.

According to the mother of the deceased, Georgina Adamu, the accused person came and took her son out of the house around 3 pm Sunday, May 7, 2023, to visit the accused’s plot of land only for him to return around 8 pm to tell her that her son was shot dead by an unknown killer.

She said the case was immediately reported to the Kuntunase police for the arrest of Lucky Young.

She revealed that upon police interrogation, the accused person confirmed that the deceased was shot by him but the act wasn’t intentional.

The body of the deceased has, however, been deposited at the St. Michael Hospital at Pramso pending autopsy whiles the accused is in police custody assisting with the investigation.

Meanwhile, a police officer alleged to have shot his girlfriend in Adum-Kumasi, has confessed to killing her because she failed to repay a GH¢5,000 debt.

This was contained in the facts presented before the Asokore Mampong District Court when the accused, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, appeared on Tuesday morning.

According to the prosecution, investigations established that after a misunderstanding with the deceased, the accused asked her to refund his GH¢5000 to him.

Following her failure to refund the money, the officer decided to shoot her, leading to her death.

The facts also revealed that the accused used a service pistol to commit the crime.
