Samuel Aborbi has urged the leadership of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to consult staff and relevant stakeholders before taking major decisions to promote cooperation and improve institutional performance.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuonsem, hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi, Mr Aborbi said institutional heads must consider the concerns of workers responsible for implementing their decisions, despite their mandate to lead and manage public institutions.
He noted that workers play a crucial role in the success of every institution and should not be sidelined in important decision-making processes.
According to him, decisions taken without adequate consultation could create misunderstandings between management and staff, potentially affecting the smooth operation of public institutions.
Mr Aborbi also cautioned against allowing political changes following elections to influence decisions in ways that could undermine institutional progress. He stressed that public officeholders must prioritise the national interest and the development of the institutions they lead.
He further emphasised the importance of discipline, cooperation and mutual understanding between management and employees, noting that effective communication and teamwork are essential to addressing institutional challenges and improving service delivery.
He therefore called on chief executive officers and their staff to strengthen collaboration, exercise discipline and work together towards achieving their institutions’ objectives in the interest of the nation.
