The President, John Dramani Mahama, together with the Government and people of Ghana, has extended condolences to the Government and people of Nigeria following a plane crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The crash, which occurred on October 5, 2026, reportedly claimed the lives of 25 people.
In a statement, the Ghanaian government said the country deeply understands Nigeria’s grief, having experienced the loss of six Ghanaian citizens in a similar incident less than a year ago.
Ghana expressed sympathy to the bereaved families, friends and colleagues of the victims, as well as the Nigerian Armed Forces and the people of Nigeria.
The statement added that Ghana stands with Nigeria in mourning those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones,” the statement said.
