Communication Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tema West Constituency, Hon. James E. Tamakloe, has called for a comprehensive reorganisation of the party to strengthen its structures and restore public confidence ahead of the next elections.
His comments followed the NPP’s election of NPP’s election of John Boadu as National Chairman, while Justin Kodua was retained as General Secretary. Daniel Titus Glover was elected National Organiser and Abanga Fuseini Yakubu became National Youth Organiser at the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on October 3, 2026.
Former NPP-affiliated Delta Forces member Kwadwo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, was also elected National First Vice Chairman.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem, hosted by Obidehye Kofi Sekyi, Hon. Tamakloe said the current state of the country requires political parties, particularly the NPP, to critically assess their structures, strategies and relationship with the Ghanaian electorate.
He said the NPP’s position as a minority in Parliament should serve as a motivation for the party to reorganise and rebuild, rather than remain focused on its past political achievements.
According to him, the party must strengthen its grassroots structures and ensure that delegates and party members play an active role in the rebuilding process.
Hon. Tamakloe also stressed the need for the NPP to learn from its recent electoral setbacks and develop a clear strategy to reconnect with Ghanaians.
He noted that the party must address concerns raised by the public while presenting credible policies and messages capable of restoring confidence and trust in the NPP.
He urged party members and delegates to support the reorganisation exercise and work collectively to rebuild the party from the constituency level upwards.
Hon. Tamakloe said the success of the NPP’s next political campaign would depend largely on how effectively the party addresses its internal challenges, strengthens its structures and reconnects with the electorate.
