The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed former Ghana international Godwin Attram as Assistant Coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
Attram joins the Black Stars technical team as a replacement for Desmond Ofei, who will now concentrate fully on his role as Head Coach of Ghana’s U23 side, the Black Meteors.
The GFA says the appointment forms part of its technical restructuring as the Black Stars prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other upcoming international assignments.
Attram, a former Black Stars midfielder, brings both playing and coaching experience to the technical team. The former PSV Eindhoven and Silkeborg IF playmaker has previously served as Head Coach of Great Olympics and has also been involved in various national youth team structures.
He is known for his work in player development and his approach to modern football.
Meanwhile, Ofei, who previously combined his Black Stars duties with responsibilities at the Black Satellites and Black Meteors, will now focus exclusively on the U23 national team as they prepare for the next Olympic Games qualifiers.
The GFA says the restructuring is aimed at ensuring greater focus and effectiveness across Ghana’s various national teams.
