Japanese prime minister, Shinzo Abe has resigned from office stating ill-health as reason for his decision.
Mr. Abe who has been battling ulcerative colitis had to visit the hospital twice within a week; an occurrence many believe triggered his decision.
The 65-year old was the longest serving PM in Japanese history.
