The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has responded to two separate vehicle-related incidents in the Greater Accra Region, including a bus crash at Fise and a trailer fire at McCarthy Hill.

In a Facebook post on Monday, August 24, the GNFS said its personnel were deployed to the two incidents on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

At Fise, personnel from the Amasaman Fire Station were called to the scene after a VIP Yutong bus collided with a concrete barricade.

The collision caused a diesel leak and damaged the bus’s bumper, side glass and side door.

Firefighters managed the leak and secured the area. No casualties were recorded, while investigations are underway to establish the cause of the crash.

At McCarthy Hill, the Weija Fire Station crew responded to a fire involving a MAN diesel trailer.

The fire was already in progress when firefighters arrived but was brought under control at 8:13am and completely extinguished at 9:01am.

The blaze extensively damaged the head section of the trailer, while the trailer section was partially affected.

No casualties were recorded in the incident.

The GNFS said investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding both incidents.
