Three people have been confirmed dead following a fatal road crash involving a Toyota RAV4 and a Kia Picanto on the Kyebi–Asikam road in the Eastern Region.
The Kibi Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the crash and rescued injured victims from the vehicles.
The injured were subsequently transported to the Kibi Government Hospital for medical attention. However, three occupants of the Kia Picanto were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Preliminary investigations by the GNFS indicate that the Toyota RAV4 lost control, crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the Kia Picanto.
The exact circumstances leading to the RAV4 losing control are yet to be fully established, while further details on the identities of the deceased and the condition of the injured are expected to emerge.
The incident was reported by the GNFS Public Relations Officer for the Eastern Region on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
