Tema: Trinity Lutheran School holds graduation and prefectorial handover ceremony

Trinity Lutheran School on Saturday, July 25, 2026, held a colourful graduation and prefectorial handover ceremony for pupils in Kindergarten (KG), Primary, and Junior High School (JHS), including candidates who recently completed the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The event brought together parents, teachers, alumni, invited guests, and members of the school community to celebrate the academic achievements of the graduating students while encouraging them as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the official handover of office from the outgoing prefects to the newly elected student leaders. During the ceremony, both the outgoing and incoming prefects delivered speeches, expressing gratitude to the school authorities, teachers, parents, and fellow students. They also pledged to uphold discipline, leadership, and excellence in the school.

The General Manager of Plan B FM, Mr. Frederick Aniagyei, who was the guest speaker, inspired the students with a message centred on character, resilience, and purpose. He urged the graduates not to seek validation through social media.

“Don’t chase applause. Social media likes and congratulatory messages come and go, but your name, character, and hard work will remain. You are important even when no one is watching,” he advised.

Mr. Aniagyei further encouraged the students to remain true to themselves rather than imitate others in pursuit of popularity. According to him, honesty, integrity, and sound decision-making will always open doors to greater opportunities.

He also reminded the graduates that setbacks are an inevitable part of life and encouraged them to remain resilient.

“After Senior High School, you may fail tests, face rejection, and become tired. That is normal. What matters is your ability to rise again after every setback,” he said.

He concluded by encouraging the students to discover their purpose by asking themselves what problems they wanted to solve, adding that they could grow into professionals such as nurses, entrepreneurs, journalists, broadcasters, and other change-makers who contribute positively to society.

The Executive Manager of Trinity Lutheran School, Mrs. Rebecca Arhin, also addressed the gathering. She congratulated the graduates and expressed appreciation to parents for supporting their children’s education. She, however, appealed to parents to become more actively involved in supporting school programmes financially, noting that some parents often fail to contribute towards such activities despite the benefits they offer students.

Mrs. Arhin emphasised that the success of educational programmes depends on the collective efforts of parents, teachers, and school management, and encouraged parents to continue partnering with the school to provide quality education for every child.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates, cultural performances, musical displays, and photo sessions as students, parents, staff, and invited guests celebrated another successful academic milestone.
