Kpone Katamanso DRIP coordinator optimistic major roads will be upgraded by 2028

The District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) Coordinator for Kpone Katamanso, Martin Adator, has expressed confidence that the municipality’s major roads will see significant improvement by 2028 as several infrastructure projects move through various stages of planning and implementation.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s Ebaanosen with host Ohene Kinnah, Mr. Adator acknowledged the municipality’s infrastructure challenges but said ongoing and planned road projects demonstrate the Assembly’s commitment to improving the area’s road network.

He explained that while some road projects are executed by the central government, the Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly has also undertaken key infrastructure initiatives. He cited the Patula Road as an example, noting that it was constructed by the Assembly, although public perception has often overlooked the Assembly’s role due to political narratives.

Mr. Adator further disclosed that an additional 10-kilometre stretch of the Patula Road has been earmarked for development. According to him, preliminary activities, including surveying, measurements, and other technical assessments, are currently underway ahead of construction.

He also revealed that roads within the New Road (22 Road) area, including sections around the municipal boundary and the Zenu Market enclave, have been captured under ongoing road rehabilitation and development programmes.

Expressing optimism about the municipality’s infrastructure outlook, Mr. Adator said that if implementation continues according to plan, most of Kpone Katamanso’s major roads should be completed by 2028.

He stressed that road construction is a gradual process that requires sustained funding, careful planning, and consistent execution, assuring residents that the Assembly remains committed to delivering improved road infrastructure despite existing financial and logistical challenges.
