Rev. Benjamin Boateng has urged the public to be vigilant in identifying manipulative individuals, describing manipulation as a form of deception driven largely by selfish interests and personal gain.
Speaking on Nyansapo Fie on Plan B FM with Akosua Gyamfua, the clergyman explained that manipulative people frequently resort to dishonesty and misleading tactics to influence others and achieve their own objectives.
According to Rev. Boateng, one of the clearest red flags is when an individual consistently presents themselves as the victim, even in situations where they are responsible for the problem. He noted that such behavior is common in friendships, family settings, and romantic relationships.
While acknowledging that many people may display manipulative tendencies at some point in their lives, he stressed the need for self-reflection and awareness to prevent such behavior from becoming a pattern.
Rev. Boateng further advised individuals to create healthy boundaries and, where necessary, distance themselves from people who repeatedly engage in manipulation, in order to safeguard their emotional and mental well-being.
He concluded by emphasizing that change is possible for manipulative individuals, but only if they are willing to confront their behavior, develop self-awareness, and seek guidance through counseling or other forms of support.
